Entrusting your loved pet to anyone’s care is a decision – the same decision our founders made time and again. We think any overnight stay should feel like home. Preparing your pup for an overnight stay at Lucky & Lady® is much the same as preparing for Enhanced Day Care. There are a few additional things you can do to ensure both you and your pet have the best, most relaxing time while you’re apart.

Prepare for your arrival

If your dog’s overnight experience with us includes time in Enhanced Day Care during his or her stay, a temperament test is required in advance of your pet’s visit. We’ll ensure your pet is a perfect fit for us and you’ll have the peace of mind you need. If you’re unable to schedule a temperament test visit before your pet’s overnight stay, a concierge or reservation specialist will work with you to personalize the very best experience.

Our client portal makes sharing health, wellness and allergy information a snap. You can upload vaccination records (required), provide veterinarian information and additional contacts – perfect if you’re traveling and encounter any delays. To see what vaccinations are required visit our FAQ.

Our Beyond Boarding service does not include “crates.” Pets are housed overnight in suites or enclosures engineered specifically for pets and built to spec for Lucky & Lady®. Yet, crate training at home for just a few hours several times a week can help get your pup accustomed to spending a little time alone and feeling good about it. While Lucky & Lady® is staffed 24/7/365 and pets are never left alone, overnight slumber occurs in a safe, quiet and separated environment.

When you arrive

Nothing can upset a pet’s stomach more than an abrupt change of food. It’s always best to bring along the food your pet normally eats. Indicate the typical feeding times and amounts in our client portal or let a Lucky & Lady® concierge know. If you forget, we’ll have premium house food available. All we ask is that you bring enough of your pet’s food required during his or her stay with us, plus a little extra. We prefer meals to be pre-portioned. Please do not bring a month’s supply of food in a giant container if your pet is only luxuriating with us for a few nights.

Keeping your pet current on any medications or supplements is essential. You can provide this information in the client portal. Lucky & Lady® does not charge for administration of oral medications and supplements, but you must provide them. If your pet requires other forms of medication, such as a subcutaneous injection, speak with a concierge before your stay so we can confirm staffing and capabilities.

Even though your pet may not snuggle with that old blanket or chew on that favorite toy, just knowing it’s there will be of comfort. The scent of “home” will provide positive reassurance to even the most outgoing and self-assured dogs. (For a list of prohibited items, see our FAQ.)

For the safety of all pets in our extraordinary care, we only allow break-away or clasped collars. These are the fairly common collars most pet parents use. They’re easily removable and washable. We don’t permit leather or buckled (think of a person’s belt) collars. Please do not attach tracking devices, anti-bark devices, or any other electronics to your pet’s collar. These devices contain batteries and other components that could pose a significant risk to any pet if they are chewed or ingested.
