About the position
A Pet Styling Assistant at Lucky & Lady® plays an important role in finding the “show dog” in every pet that visits our Grooming Spa. You’ll assist our professional Pet Stylists in brushing and combing fur or hair, bathing, nail clipping, drying and other similar responsibilities. This is largely a hands-on entry level position with opportunities for advancement, training and education, including professional training and mentoring so you can become a professional pet groomer.
You’ll help to create and maintain our resort-like environment rooted in exceptional customer service and modern technologies. The Pet Styling Assistant must be able to navigate our client booking and management software and communicate with clients in an outgoing and friendly manner. Our professional Grooming Spa is equipped with electric, all-sides access tables.
Depending upon the needs of the day, other responsibilities might include cleaning pet suites, feeding and caring for pets, walking dogs, bathing dogs, doing laundry, cleaning and maintaining the facility, and assisting others when necessary.
Required qualifications
- Must regard safety and security as the absolute highest priority
- Must have excellent communications skills
- Must demonstrate substantial comfort and ease working with dogs of varying sizes and breeds
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds regularly and 40 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to stand and move for long periods of time
- Must be eligible for employment in the U.S.
- Must simply love dogs
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- All team members must be certified in canine and feline CPR and first aid and we will provide this training
Preferred qualifications
- Previous retail/sales experience
- Previous customer service experience
Lucky & Lady® team members are required to wear and maintain a clean uniform, some of which is provided. Lucky & Lady® is staffed 24/7/365. Team members are generally provided regular shifts but flexibility to work different shifts is required.
