As millions of people flee the war in Ukraine, thousands of pets are being left behind. Pet organizations are responding, but they need help. Lucky & Lady is matching donations to assist pets in Kyiv, Ukraine, up to $10,000.
The social media messages and photos are heart-dropping. From those attempting to leave Ukraine with their pets, to others huddling in bomb shelters and subway stations, the situation is dire. Hundreds of non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) are responding, including an array of pet charities and adoption organizations in Europe. We fell in love with one rescue and animal welfare group, still operating in the heart of Ukraine.

Happy Paw, located on Shota Rustaveli Street in Kyiv, has been coordinating supply deliveries to more than 60 animal shelters across Ukraine to help feed and shelter animals caught in the crossfire.

“We’re in close contact as our friends are facing a dire situation together with the 1,100 dogs in their care. We are devastated to share that our partner shelter in Gorlovka sustained damage and, unfortunately, one dog was killed after a shell hit the facility. Staff remain in place and have continued to care for their dogs but are not allowed to cook hot food for dogs in care because the fire could draw unnecessary attention to the shelter. They desperately need to buy dry dog food.”
LUCKY & LADY Will Match Contributions
Contribute online through our client portal or ask a concierge for help. We’ll match donations up to $10,000. We’re doing it because we care.
This region is in active war and, while we can verify the wonderful and heroic work of this organization, any contribution should not be considered a charitable contribution for the purposes of filing tax returns with the IRS or for any other purpose. 100% of donations will be sent to animal welfare workers in Ukraine, less any credit card processing fees or any fees associated with the international SWIFT system of transmitting funds.
Thank you for helping the pets of Ukraine.
